Are UFC Weight Classes Perfect?

Are UFC Weight Classes Perfect? Fans debate over this from long time, today we will discuss about the same.

The UFC currently has nine weight classes, ranging from Flyweight at 125 pounds to Heavyweight at 265 pounds for men, and from Strawweight at 115 pounds to Bantamweight at 135 pounds for female fighters. However, there has been ongoing debate among fans and critics about the adequacy of the existing weight classes in the men’s division.

If we examine the weight differences between the divisions, we can see that there is a 10-pound gap between Strawweight and Lightweight, but a 15-pound gap between Lightweight and Welterweight, and Welterweight to Middleweight. This creates a significant jump in weight, and there are many fighters who fall in between these two categories.
To address this concern, many fans argue that there should be additional weight classes introduced at 165 pounds and 175 pounds. By doing so, the weight difference between divisions would be less drastic, allowing fighters to cut weight more safely and avoid potential health issues. Furthermore, if these new weight classes were implemented, there would no longer be a 170-pound category, and the gap between Middleweight (185 pounds) and the new Welterweight (175 pounds) would be reduced as well.

While these suggestions have sparked rumors of potential changes in the UFC, the question remains: Are the current weight classes sufficient, or should these two new weight classes be introduced? The answer to this debate ultimately lies in the hands of the UFC, its officials, and the fighters themselves.

What are your thoughts on this matter? Do you believe that the UFC weight classes are perfect as they are, or do you think that the introduction of 165-pound and 175-pound divisions would improve the overall structure of the sport? Share your opinions and join the discussion below!
